Yes I am still doing the Happy Dance. My heart is happy.

This has been a historic event. Yesterday evening felt to me similar to September 11, 2001, when we sat on our couch watching the world change. The world is not the place that it has always been and yesterday is proof. I know that the world is at a challenging place. That there are people who are disappointed in the outcome of this election (no more so than I was in 2000 HA!) but the point is that the world is OUR problem. All of our problem. We have to get ourselves together, dig deep in faith, and make it happen.

My favorite Obama Campaign song. "A Change is Gonna Come."
WE, the American People, have taken back what our ancestors fought for. For freedom, liberty, autonomy, our voice. The growling voice from deep within that says enough is enough. Enough bigotry, hate, disrespect, and selfishness. That the way that we have collectively chosen to live as if we don't need each other or that no one else matters, has to stop. The idea that socialism is on its way in blows my mind. We are mighty together but apart, WE WILL FAIL. It is that simple.
People for generations - Centuries - American people have fought for what we all lost sight of in a few short years. Today it is if our eyes are open. I have seen too many emails from fellow LDS people full of hatred, venom and intolerance of others. I will take no more. I am an American and bleed red just like everyone else. I will not tolerate ignorance any longer. I can't take it. I am personally, deeply saddened about Proposition 8 but we will live to see it again. It is my prayer that the world will be ready and that their eyes and hearts will be open.
Barack Obama has a long journey in front of him. I believe he has the support to do what needs to be done. We haven't seen anything like this in over a century. I am certain mistakes will be made. No one is perfect but I tip my hat to the great man who has chosen so freely and willingly to do what needs to be done with passion and love in his heart. I am moved and inspired. When was the last time that happened by a political leader? Lets take a deep breath and collectively say, "Yes We Can."

Hi Natasha. Thanks for standing up for me. I was a little lonely over there. I don't usually voice my opinions on other's blogs...but I was sent a personal email from Jamie about that very issue, so I felt like I had the right to do so. Just so you know who I am...I am related to Cody and Kathryn (I saw their blog on your side bar). I am Cody's sister. Thanks again for your comment.

cody coaches my son in soccer. small world. yes i got the jamie email and replied to remove me from the hate mail list especially since i don't agree. she came back with a few things but understood that my mind won't be changed. as i convert to the church and a person who is bi-racial, i definately see things from a different perspective but wanted to acknowledge you for so eloquently standing up for what is right. is your blog a personal one or just work related?

You couldn't have a better soccer coach. I can tell you that Cody was the very best soccer player in his time. Do I sound like a partial sister or what? The way I see it, everyone does have the right to their own opinions. It is the way our opinions are presented that is important. I think it is most important that LDS members stand strong in a way that we can be proud. Bashing each other is not the way to do it. Especially when dealing with members that share our faith. How does that make us look when we judge other Mormons simply because of their location. Calling Utah Mormons "MoMo's"? It just proves the way we are viewed to others. How can we claim we are righteous and Christ like when we belittle our own members?
My photography blog is just for fun. I always have people asking me questions about photography on my personal blog (which is private) so I thought an easy way to help people with their own photography would be a place I could share secrets and web finds without having to answer the same questions over and over when people email me.

cody does great with the kids even if my kid doesn't like it one bit and just spends his time running around like forrest gump on the field. lol.
my experience with mormon people has been that most of the people i've met are judgemental. does that keep me from returning? not most sunday's...lol. but in reality, how is that for presenting the lord's work to the rest of the world? i find myself consistently dumbfounded with people who let their mormonness (if you will, it is late) get in the way of their christianity. i am not advocating agreeing with gay marriage if you don't feel it is right but to not put yourself in the seat of ruler and judge.
i feel like most of this blog is making me sound dumb since it is so late and my brain is off but here it is anyhow! please forgive me. :) when i can function, i am certainly heading over to your blog to get some tips! enjoy your weekend and check out the video i just put up!
